Les book v les movie

In the book it shows Fantine being care for by Jean Valjean and the 2 sisters. In the movie it skips over that and straight into Javert apologizing to Jean Valjean. In the book it also talked about how Fantine got pregnant and how she felt. In the movie it didn’t it skipped to Fantine working in the Factory. In the book it talked about Fantine leaving Cosotte with the Thernadiers and in the book It skipped it and again into the Factory.

Monkey see/ hear/ do

I think auditory will be the most effective way of learning. I’m going to use it because I want to talk about the important evidence and not just rely on a video to talk about the test. For auditory I'm going to talk about the test. For visual I’m going to show the test being performed. Kinesthetic I’m going to use the lights as an example of a test being done on us.

Dynamic Character

Jean Valjean is a dynamic character. There has been a lot of changes since we were first introduced to him. In some ways I guess you can say he went back to his old ways. Now its not just him fending for himself. He has to be cautious because he is caring someone else with him on his journey.

When we first met Jean Valjean he was a criminal and only was worrying about him. He would rob anyone it didn't matter how old or whoever helped. We had good examples of that through out the first 30 minutes of meeting him. He stole from Mognseiur Bienvenu who was kind enough to give Jean Valjean Shelter. He even stole from little Jarvis which was boy who dropped his coin and Jean Valjean took the opportunity to take the coin from him and not say a word.

Jean Valjean changed a couple pages later. He was now the Mayor of his own town. No one knew his old past so he didn't have to worry about being rejected for being a convict. He took that as an opportunity to change his whole personal character. He was caring for everyone. He would still break in into houses but not to take anything or do any harm. He would do this to leave gold for those owners of the houses he broke into. He did this so often as soon as people saw gold they knew who exactly it was. He started caring for everyone in his town. When Fantine was involved with drama in Jean's town he didn't get mad he released and did the same that Mognseiur Bienvenu once did for him he gave her shelter.

Jean Valjean went back to sorta of his old criminal ways. It was for a good reason even though it was bad at the same time. He gave Fantine his word before she died that he would go get Cosette. Jean Valjean had a rough time getting to Cosette as he was sentenced for Jail for all his crimes committed when he was younger. He turned himself in because an innocent guy was about to get all the charges that were towards Jean Valjean as the guy was mistaken for the real Jean Valjean. He got arrested for all those charges but he remembered his promise and broke out of Jail to go look for Cosette. He was now considered a Convict on the run.

Jean Valjean has changed in many more ways these are only a few. He went from bad to good with a mix. These reasons  as I read the book convinced me that Jean was not a static character but a Dynamic character.

Fauchelevent

Fauchelevent is a good character because he helps Jean Valjean. All the nuns think Jean Valjean is dumb but really he isn’t he acts dumb and even has a good speech he uses big words when he talks. . Today we read about Fauchelevent and Jean Valjean making a plan to get Jean Valjean and Colette a spot to sleep at.

My big question

Some people think research is boring because they have to do it for class and it’s usually about something that’s not interesting. But today I did research and it was awesome. Here’s how I did it I went to google and got straight to the point and typed are dogs color blind. I found some really interesting facts about it. The websites told me about how they test the dogs what cause some confusion in dogs seeing colors. I even learned that dogs confuse green and red.

Weekend Goals

Well reading a lot of Les Mis lately it has gotten me thinking out in the real world like trying to be a good smaratian and helping out the poor or the helpless. I try to be as nice as I can to everyone I meet. I like helping out the homeless because I feel like they need it the most. Also I learned how to keep someone quiet that doesn’t know the situation ur in. Like how Jean Valjean  told Cosette that thernadiers was going to take if she wasn’t quiet and she stayed quiet.

Jean Valjean in another strange situation

Jean Valjean met Facuelevent again. Facuelevent Was a man that Jean Valjean knew earlier in the book. We got to see him in the book too. The first time we met him was when we barley met new Jean Valjean for the first time since back when we barley met his olds sorta thuggish personality. Facuelevent Was the old crippled guy under the wagon that Jean Valjean first picked up. Further in the book we meet him again later in the book and he gives Jean Valjean a place to stay and hide from Javert as sorta a way of paying him off for saving his life.

A sense of place

I think victor hugo begins with so many details to get the reader involved more to make the reader feel like he knows the place to his imaginations max potential. No I don’t agree with history sometimes because sometimes it’s too much and is still causing problems at this moment. No the places I group up in didn’t really have an effect on me because I knew if my mom caught me stepping outside the box i was going to get a good beating out of it.

BQ thoughts

I really haven’t been doing anything to research the question. I feel like I don’t have enough time because I just get so caught up with homework from other classes and trying to study for test from those classes. Another reason I don’t have time on the weekends is because I have been going outta town a lot recently because my grandma has been getting sick so we go to support her and help her out. I would really like to work on this big question but not outside of school I feel like if we had a couple of days in class it would be pretty helpful.

My online me

When I searched for my self on the internet my football awards and other related stuff came up. Santa Maria times came up. It was a picture of me sacking the Quarter Back. I also popped up when I was blocking for my friend when he was running the ball. I also came up on round table. It where they give pizza to the areas athletes and I got to go to it. It was a pretty fun experience.

Good morning

I learned today that I have to stop hitting the snooze button because it makes me late. Today I only had 6 mins to get here on time and I only got here on time cause my cousin gave me a ride. But it’s frustrating when I wake up late and get to school late cause I wanna get here on time I just go to bed late cause when I do my hw it takes me a good amount of time. My good habit is that I can get ready in only a few minutes.

Todays takeaways

Today in class I learned how to better my lit circle doc. I saw my classmates lit circles and I liked how they were organized. They were organized with pages to where they got the information. All of the sections were done they looked nice and it looked like they really cared to do it.

Reading Me

Yeah I read when I’m not in school. I read les miserables. The only reason I read is because my teacher ask me to and i know he isn’t just telling me to do stuff for random reasons or just because but ik it’s going to make me better for the next level. I also read cause I want to just get my stuff over and done with.

When the cats away the mice go to work

On the days you were gone I read to page 400. I read about Cosette's first time having a feel for freedom. A traveler talked to Thernadier and bought Cosette some happiness. Thernadier as we know loves money and will do anything to get money. So the traveler which they call a Carter in the book asked how much it would be. Thernadier gave a price and he paid. Cosette was scared so she asked if she could play Thernadier angrily said yes.

Life with Cosette

I think Cosette got used to the abuse she is put everyday which is sad and no child should be used to that type of torture. She has never experienced a nice person in her life so how could she know. She has only experienced pain being brought out on her by the thernadiers. I think she sees this as just a lifestyle everyone lives.

Mr. Nice guy

I think when people do kind things it makes them feel good I don't think it does anything for the person but I think it passes on to the next person. It then becomes a cycle of being nice. I don't think you can be nice by acting nice because sometimes deep down you can be hating something and it just eliminates the point of doing a good deed.

Recipe for a happy life

To make a happy Adult hood I think you need to learn to get over situations or bumps in the road. I say this because some people like serial killers, rapist, etc. Are hurt deep inside and that is why they take it out on other people because they are so tired and sad of their situation so they have to resort to hurting other people. I think it depends on a good child hood most of the time because when I was younger my dad walked out on me, my brother, and my mom and it was bad my mom had to take care of me and my brother. It effected me more then it did my brother because I was younger my grades were dropping I was getting in a lot of trouble but a couple years later I got over it and just said I cant do anything about it other than help out the one who stayed with me so I just started doing better in school. So yeah I think ones child hood has an effect on a persons adult hood.

French History and Les Mis

I know a couple things about the French Revolution. I know that the King Louis the 16 was out here wasting the towns money on party's with other important people while his people of his town were struggling. The King would also spend it on lavish clothes and on the military. But very few of that money was spent on food close to none was being spent on food. So food prices started going up it was really hard for people to feed their family's and somedays they wouldn't eat at all. Moms where getting really mad cause if someone is hurting a mothers kid lets just say your going to be in deep trouble. So the mothers of France marched the Versailles which was where the kings palace was at and the guards that tried to stop the women were then killed by the women had there heads chopped off and put on sticks. They then forced the king to bring the prices down and to promise them he would provide more for the people. The king agreed for now. The king later did the same thing and the village brought him to town and did an execution for the king and any one who had been associated with him. Napoleon was considered an emperor because he had curfews for the people of France and if anyone was caught outside pass curfew there would be consequences. Napoleon also restored peace in France by himself.

Triad of good, evil & justice

I think Fantine is going to end up dying because she was so excited about Cosette coming to see her mom. I think after some time passes by she will be so sad and heart broken that she’s is just going to die. I think Jean Valjean will beat the case because it was a long time ago and he has changed from then to know tremendously too. Jean has been giving gold to the unfortunate for a long time. If Jean ends up going to jail then I think Javert will be hated by his whole community. I think that because Jean Was sorta the reason everyone lived so comfortable now that he’s gone because of Javert is going to make the whole community go off.

Les Mis is not funny

I think Victor Hugo doesn't involve humor in the story because he takes the situation serious. What i mean by that is he has most likely has seen it when he goes around. So when he sees those types of stuff he feels deep for it. What i mean by that is he takes it to the heart when he sees stuff like that. Victor Hugo knows its a real problem and is just talking about it and is just trying to get more awareness on it.

Have to versus to want to

I think the lit circles and hw are the same because they are both work and u have to complete both of them by a certain deadline. I think the only difference is the out come because for hw it’s a grade just for yourself it’s easy because you choose if u want to do it or not. For the lit circles it’s a grade for multiple people if someone doesn’t do there job it inflected on the whole group.

How you know what I know

To show you what I know I you can use notes and summarize a bunch of notes. Also make slide shows. With summarizations you get a whole bunch of information in a small little passage. You get the most important things that took place you get a lot of detail you get certain stuff getting broken down. With slides I think it’s easier because you get the same thing as u get with the summarizing but you get visual examples and sometimes it’s easier for some people to learn with visual examples then with just reading some words and trying to figure it out by yourself.

Javert

I think Javert is a paragon of justice because he isn't fair in a lot of the cases and he gives hard sentences. When he arrested Fantine he didn't even bother going after the other guy who was talking all that stuff about her and then put snow down her back. Javert reminds me of the Thearnadier family because the family isn't fair to Cosette and are really messed up to her. Same with Javert he is really tough on Fantine just because she was defending her self.

Les Mis Notes

Why did M sur M release Fantine from jail? Why did M sur M offer to take care of her and Cosette? Why did the Thernadier family want the money so bad and felt the need to ask so much from Fantine?

Les Mis 155-177

Why did M sur M pay for the old mans horse and carriage if he wasn't the on to damaged it. Does this part of the book play an important role?

Les mis pages (154-158)

Cossete wasn’t living a good life her life seemed miserable. After we read through the pages we read we had a discussion and since we read about Cossetes and we were all wondering if Cossete is the lil girl on the book cover cause she was sweeping and she looked sad like what we had been reading about.

Reading notes

As a group we read pages 153 to 155 we got a bit of background on Madame Thénardier and how her kids were. I found interesting how and why her kid would run away. We also got some behavior updates on how Fantines daughter was doing. In the book it said she was being disrespectful to Madame Thénardier. Yesterday where we left of yesterday the author said that some picture was fully going to be painted later on I want to know more about that because it sounds interesting cause you don't know what he's talking about.

Reflections on Fantine & Cosette

I would tell Fantine to hurry and find a job. To make sure she’s is paying all her bills for her daughter If she don’t something bad can and possibly would happen to her daughter. Like they might not give her food they might kick her out the house. Possibly just leave her outside all on her own. I also suggest that she comes back whenever she gets the chance so she can keep that bond with her daughter. That would help because if she wasn’t to then she would be too comfortable with the people’s home.

Decisions Decisions

I don’t think Fantine made a good decision because she wanted to get loved by beauty. It didn’t turn out good for her because she ended up getting pregnant at the end. She also turned out to be really heart broken. I think that Fantine should’ve got to known thymoles a bit better but she messed up and now is heart broken with a kid. I think it was good decision for Jean Valjean to steal from the bishop bienvenu because if he wouldn’t had stole from him then he wouldn’t have broken down. Jean valjean would’ve still been a criminal if the pope didn’t tell him that his soul has been forgiven.

Reading and thinking together

I work in a group with 5 other people. We decided our plan for Monday was read a couple of pages and then work on the lit circles together. I think our idea is good working together on all the parts of the lot circles because if we miss one thing our partners could’ve came across it and then they could help me or each other.

How to keep yourself more secure on the internet

One strategy that I recommend for security is clicking never save password for any device that you log in with. This will help by always logging yourself out when u leave the website or even when you turn of the computer. Another strategy is using encrypted messages so no one else but you and the other person you are in contact with can see the messages.

Those who do not weep don’t not see

I think people should care more about deporting immagrants from this country and people being able to become American citizens because there are people that are really nice but can’t apply for citizen ship all because they weren’t born here. They came here for a reason to live the American dream and to be citizen. People that are Americans can’t see how bad it hurts when u separate a family just because they were born somewhere else outside of America.

American literature

I think Graceland is a form of American literature because the United States has a lot of parts of the world United with us. Paul Simon went to Africa to make music with these people they didn’t even know and they were United as one. No one was talking about money or even getting rewards. They just all wanted to share their culture with each other. It was also an American Paul Simon who brought these people together which I think made it American because although there is some people that discriminate I think people liked that Paul Simon brought people together. World literature I think it’s just you trying to make money for yourself in your contry which From our perspective is the world vice versa. I think others before they try something they are quick to judge off of the first impression same as me but sometimes when we get a better look or taste of it can go both ways either you like it our you don’t.

My thoughts on strike

I don’t agree with teachers because strikes are aggressive and could lead to people getting seriously hurt. I think that strikes should be a second option to asking for needs. But it’s also the districts fault because they should’ve held some sort of conference with the teachers to find a solution for all their needs. If that didn’t work or help then that’s when I think the teachers should strike not just right off the bat.
